User Pages
User pages are personal spaces where Origin Wiki contributors can share information about themselves, their interests, and their contributions to the wiki. This guide explains how to use and customize your user page.
What Are User Pages?
Every registered Origin Wiki user has a personal user page associated with their account. Your user page is a space where you can:
- Introduce yourself to the community
- Share your areas of expertise and interest
- List projects you're working on
- Display your contributions to Origin Wiki
- Provide contact information (if you choose)
User pages are accessible by clicking on a username anywhere on the site, or by navigating to /user/[your-wallet-address]
.
Creating Your User Page
To create or edit your user page:
- Click on your username or wallet address in the top navigation after connecting your wallet
- If your user page doesn't exist yet, you'll see an option to create it
- Use the editor to add content about yourself
- Click "Save" to publish your user page
User Page Content Guidelines
While user pages offer more freedom than article pages, there are still some guidelines to follow:
- Appropriate content: User pages should not contain offensive, inappropriate, or promotional content
- No impersonation: Your user page should represent you accurately
- Reasonable size: Keep your user page at a reasonable size and complexity
- No disruption: User pages should not disrupt the functioning of the site
User Talk Pages
In addition to your main user page, you also have a user talk page where other contributors can leave messages for you. To access your talk page:
- Navigate to your user page
- Click on the "Talk" tab at the top
When someone leaves a message on your talk page, you'll receive a notification. It's good practice to respond on the same talk page rather than elsewhere, to keep the conversation in one place.
User Subpages
You can create subpages under your user page for organizing different types of content:
- /user/[wallet-address]/drafts - For working on article drafts before moving them to the main namespace
- /user/[wallet-address]/sandbox - For experimenting with wiki formatting
- /user/[wallet-address]/projects - For tracking your ongoing projects
To create a subpage, navigate to your user page and add the desired subpage name to the URL, then create the page.
